	Red River: Listening to a Polluted River was an 18-month research project led by John Wedgwood Clarke of the University of Exeter. It explores how creative writing can transform our relationship to a polluted, post-industrial river through listening to the human and non-human voices that have shaped, and continue to shape, its course.
On Saturday 3rd February 2024 a final celebration of the project took place at Kresen Kernow, with workshops throughout the day and a book launch at 3.30pm.

Georgia’s practice takes many different forms, ranging from absurd performative actions and quasi-practical sculptural objects to snappy video works and curious ceramics. She is also the instigator of far reaching collaborations and independent projects.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with her on multiple projects including Penryn Arts Festival, Unbounded and From the Field. And are now delighted to be collaborating on a major new commission for Arts and Culture, at the University of Exeter.&#38;nbsp;

SERVICES&#38;nbsp;︎ &#124; TEAM ︎ &#124; OPPORTUNITIES ︎ &#124;&#38;nbsp;SUPPORTERS ︎&#38;nbsp;

OUR MISSION

	At Field Notes, we see contemporary art as something useful and relevant in day to day life. It has the ability to start conversations, to create platforms for community and inspire progress.
By exploring the relationship between contemporary art, artists and communities we strive to develop audiences, uncover and activate unusual venues and create professional opportunities for artists.
	Field Notes commissions, develops and presents art that finds new ways to break old ground; infiltrating the public realm and opening up exciting, challenging but ultimately accessible channels into a world of contemporary art using a platform of unusual community sites. These strategies and projects contribute to the cultural life of our towns, cities and rural communities.
Field Notes is focused on activity beyond the established centres of the art world; developing projects which bring cutting edge contemporary practice to communities with limited local access.

	By supporting the practice of artists who operate from or engage with these communities, we seek to challenge a rural art status quo by providing access, information and support that taps into an international debate whilst simultaneously bringing different communities together to share ideas and celebrate heritage on a local scale.
We have worked in disused chapels and four-storey shops, yacht clubs, a mackerel fishing boat, an Elizabethan museum and in white walled galleries, producing giant art festivals, intimate commissions and multi-layered elusive journeys that explore ideas, towns, histories, woodlands.

	Endorsement:
“It was a pleasure working with Cat and Rosie on our Cross Channel Film Lab workshop in November. They were professional and efficient throughout, and went above and beyond to find creative solutions to problems as they arose. They provided effective co-ordination of our live events throughout the day and evening, arranging transport and collecting key data, as well as overseeing a tight interview schedule, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. We would certainly work with them again.”

		<description>TEAM

	Rosie Allen and Cat BaggField Notes is the collaborative practice of Cat Bagg and Rosie Allen. We both trained and practised as artists, self-organising projects and exhibitions independently. In 2012 we each made the decision to study Curatorial Practice at MA level and that is how we met. Since that time we’ve worked almost exclusively in a curatorial capacity funnelling our joint practice into the shape of an organisation so that we can leverage more for the artists and audiences we work with; finding ourselves joining conversations under the guise of business, undertaking negotiations in ways that would be impossible as an individual, and acting as a voice for arts and culture in spaces where they can be hard to find.
Our creativity is fuelled by the artists, sites and communities we work with. Each new project is an opportunity to explore new ideas, discovering layers of history, ecology and folklore - almost always in Cornwall, which has become the principal subject of our work as well as our main site of activity.&#38;nbsp;

	Katie Platts

Katie is an artist and arts organiser living and working in Cornwall. Since graduating from her BA Fine Art and Visual Culture in 2021 she has assisted Cat and Rosie at Field Notes, alongside working as an art technician and establishing her own creative practice. She enjoys creating collaborative and site-specific projects that engage with the Cornish landscape, often exploring bodies of water, post-industrial sites and mystical narratives.
